A recent sermon at the church I attend was about “getting excited about God and about church.” The pastor mentioned how many people approach him and tell him that they are trying to get more excited about God and church but it just doesn’t seem to happen for them. My two drivers of gains in my portfolio over the past couple months have been Chesapeake Energy (CHK) and Apple (AAPL). Even though I think the long term fundamentals are intact with both companies, I decided to sell part of my positions in both stocks.

I had an absolutely exhausting day of home searching over the weekend and I came home frustrated and annoyed. I spent several hours looking at homes in one of the developments characterized as a new development, with over a thousand homes, all stacked on top of each other, with a high rate of foreclosures, short sales, bank owned properties, etc. Furthermore, the community was a community developed a good distance away from downtown. One of the most interesting products in Apple’s (AAPL) amazing product channels is the Apple TV. The reason for it being so interesting is because it has not taken off like most of Apple’s products. Apple TV has even had two iterations released which would make you think that Apple definitely believes in the product.
