I've been following your blog by RSS for a while, and I appreciate your insight. It seems to me that the FairTax idea has had a hard time gaining traction. I joined the www.ZAPtheIRS.com social network, but it's still very small. I find it hard to understand the opposition to the idea by Americans. I know that Congress will never approve wholeheartedly, since taxing is their bread and butter. I've looked and asked around for reasons why this is NOT a good idea, and have had no luck finding valid arguments. But on the other hand, those I've asked have never even heard about it. So, I guess it's up to us to spread the word, and hopefully we can make a difference. That wasn't supposed to be a soapbox. Withholding has made us numb to the amount of money we are taxed each pay period. Hopefully this tax holiday would make people realize, "Wow, i sure lose a great deal of money each paycheck to federal taxes".
