Bailout is a word that you hear a lot these days. We’ve had bank bailouts, auto company bailouts, even “bailouts” of home owners who are under water with their homes. We’ve bailed out municipalities and insurance companies. Arguably, there are more to come. Perhaps, commercial real estate? When this are going tough, whether you lost your job or can’t find a job, it’s easy to play the entitlement card. “How can they do that to me?”, “How can they let go of me and not him?”, “If they’re going to cut my hours, then I’m going to stop caring about my performance”. These are all natural reactions many people go through. When it comes to keeping your job or finding a new one, this attitude won’t help, however.

There is a big debate going on whether inflation or deflation is occuring, which is worse, and what should we do to create a nice balance between the two. The most commonly held view is that deflation is a disaster for an economy, and inflation is tolerable as long as it doesn’t get out of control.

Over the last month, the markets have rallied from the lows over 20%. If you timed the bottom correctly, you made some quick, easy money. Last April, I wrote about buying a new big screen TV at my local Sam’s Club. I also wrote about the return policy at Sam’s where I will be able to take my TV back at a later date for any reason at all. While I believed the policy, a part of me was always somewhat nervous about the deal. That is until this past weekend when I packed up my 47″ Phillips LCD TV and hauled it back to Sam’s.
