Today, it seems, that we are living in economic bliss. The recession is over. Most people on TV at least say so. One of the brightest moments today was the overwhelming the praise of the “cash for clunkers” program where the government is basically paying people to buy a new car.

With a growing family, we have decided to shift our house around a little bit, and as a result we have needed to get rid of a good deal of junk and even some stuff that’s hardly junk.  It’s truly amazing how much crap we accumulate.  The pleasant surprise in this endeavor is how much cash I’ve been able to generate by getting rid of the stuff!

A month ago, my air conditioner for my house broke.  What a pain, and when I got the repair bill, what an expense.  The worst part was that I was not really prepared for this expense at all.  It was a scenario that I wanted to avoid in the future.  My plan was to implement the “bucket” savings and/or budgeting method.

Online businesses and innovative web-based revenue streams are very much an interest of mine.  In order to better pursue these interests and make contacts with individuals looking to get involved and potentially partner on some ventures with me, I have started a new website to serve more as the focal point for this activity.

Well, after a few weeks of heavy lifting, we have launched the beta version of a new online business venture that we are building.  YourBelly.com is an online database of restaurant and menu information for individuals with dietary needs.

Recent product announcements in the last few days from Google and Microsoft show a clear trend that is becoming bigger when it comes to the internet, business and productivity.  Basically, more and more is moving to the “cloud” or the web.

Twitter is definitely one of the hottest technologies out there today.  Pro athletes, TV shows, media individuals and every average Joe seems to be on Twitter.  So, where does that leave Facebook, which is definitely used for Tweet-like communication as well?
