The bulls are still in control of this market as the rally continued today.  The “key” level of 1000 on the S&P 500 was crossed and perhaps even more importantly held as the S&P closed at just over 1002.  Most would agree that this signals perhaps further strength in the days ahead.  We will see how the rest of the week plays out.
For now, I’m continuing to hang on to my Ultra S&P500 ProShares ETF (SSO) since some more upside is a good possibility.  I’m hoping to close out this …

Stocks are up slightly in today’s trading action.  With the futures up big early this morning, it seemed that the 1000 mark on the S&P was a sure thing, but again just like the second half of last week, we’re struggling to get there.
Even despite the ferocity of the rally over the last few weeks, I believe this has to be considered a victory for the bears.  With that said, shorts are continuing to get blasted and this trend could easily continue.  I’m still definitely net short and looking to …

Happy days are here again, or so it seems.  Economic metrics are improving, or maybe just getting less worse.  The hopeful and optimistic slant of the media continues to focus on “positive” indicators such as earnings beats (despite declining revenues).  Valuations don’t matter these days it seems because well who cares about the fundamentals of a business when we have a rising stock market!
