make a killing if it happens for me? is that the part you all are believing? and does it come with the fine print clause of profit no matter what? seems like we just had a healthy dose of that kind of economics and I would label it Greed. It is not a good model and it hurt us. We need regulations and oversight in our markets to protect us from the likes of you. Glen Beck is a pink fat boy with a sslfish arrogant sneer.

Ohhh, good comment. I have much to say in response.

1. There already ARE programs in place to help people struggling: unemployment benefits, Medicaid, etc. From the private sector there are also charities and other opportunities.
2. You're assuming that government actions actually do make things better. I would argue that they make things worse. How are those people going to be when government induced inflation makes the cost of living double or triple or worse? How is the stimulus plan working out? How about the bank bailouts? Read: <a href="http://20smoney.com/2009/10/16/wall-st-elite-back-to-making-big-bucks-main-street-still-crumbling/" target="_blank"><a href="http://20smoney.com/2009/10/16/wall-st-elite-back...</a>" target="_blank">http://20smoney.com/2009/10/16/wall-st-elite-back...</a></a>
3. The one thing that I was very hopeful from Obama was that he could actually, through his excellent communication skills, he could actually talk and walk the public through a painful restructuring of the economy that would be very good for our long term prosperity. This was the "change" that we really needed. Instead he chose to continue to policies of Bush and others in reflating our asset bubbles and continuing down an unsustainable path.

Thx for the comments.

In theory, it would be nice if the invisible hand simply made everything better over time, but when so many people are unemployed and suffering, should there be no responsibility to help? Imagine the reaction if the President came out and said that it wil get better, so we should just deal with it. Not everyone can simply wait it out.
