Back in March, I mentioned that I was adding McDonalds (MCD) as a DRIP to my overall investment picture.  Today, I’m announcing that I’ve also added Wal-Mart (WMT) as a DRIP to my portfolio.  For each of these holdings, I have it setup to automatically withdraw a set amount from my bank account each month and invest it in shares of these holdings.  Also, the dividends auto-reinvest so it is a great way to accumulate positions over time.  For new investors, DRIP means Dividend Re-Investment Plans.
The thesis is the same …

Gold »

As the video above discussse, many still question whether or not buying gold is a smart play considering the run.  For me, as long as the majority of investors are skeptical and refuse to buy into the idea, I think it’s a good time to buy.  When your taxi driver starts to recommend buying gold, then you’ll know it’s time to sell (taxi drivers were recommending stocks in 1999-2000).
If you were to ask 10 people on the street if they own gold, you’d be hard pressed to get a single …

Investing, Market Analysis »

CNBC has an article out regarding a strategist who is predicting that the Dow will hit 4200-5000 by mid-2011.  Now, don’t get me wrong, CNBC has a yahoo on the air every day predicting various stock market levels whether it’s way higher than now or way lower, so it’s tough to put a lot of stock into a single prediction like this.  In fact, if you’ve read The Black Swan by Taleb, you might think it’s impossible to judge where the stock market will be in the future.  I certainly …

The global economic strategy and policies moving forward is clear.  The printing of fiat currencies is the sole strategy and solution to every economic issue around the globe.  The trillion dollar bailout was meant to stabilize the Euro and send a message to the markets that the Euro will be defended (not sure how printing a trillion units of a currency symbolizes defense).  The effect was quick but has already began to fade.  Default and collapse in Europe might be prevented for a few months, but how much will be …

Dylan Ratigan is awesome.  AND he’s a liberal!  Shocking?  Ratigan represents the old-school liberal that disagrees with people like me on a range of issues yet is still an honest, pro-American patriot.  Contrast this with the progressives that fill every position within the current administration who will lead you to believe they are for the regular folks while they continue enacting policies that hollow out the middle class and line the pockets of those in power.
This guy is one of the few who understand the Wall St / financial mess …

News over the weekend of an unprecedented bailout of the European Union and their unsustainable debt levels has markets surging this morning.
My question becomes, if printing a trillion dollars over the weekend is a good thing and stocks are up, why don’t we do it every weekend?  Why not print a trillion every weekend?  Surely, we could hit 100,000 on the Dow before long.
Zero Hedge article sums this up well:
The race to the currency devaluation bottom is now in its final lap. And gold is the only alternative to the …
