This is a good one. New York’s state pension fund, which is most likely in terrible shape for a number of reasons, is planning to sue BP for loss of BP’s share price. Ah yes, that makes perfect sense. If you invest in a company and the company’s stock loses value, why should you be forced to take a loss? That’s not very fair is it? Even if it is BP.
This is another example of a major trend in society today. That trend is the elimination of risk. Risk is …

Jim Gillespie, CEO of Coldwell Banker, recently told Yahoo! Tech Ticker that it is the absolute best time to buy a house! Let me guess, he also thought 2 months ago was the best time. And 6 months ago. And 1 year ago. And 2 years ago. Yes, and I imagine 3 months from now will also be the best time again. Come to think of it, it is ALWAYS the best time to buy a house! Gold is such a fascinating part of this whole financial/economic game we find ourselves participating in. If you’re like me, you watch the markets, the economic news, etc. and gold is easily the #1 wildcard in the whole game. Gold is very frustrating for the political and banking elite as it provides a barometer to reality, a decoding tool for people like you and me so that we can know what to believe.

With the Gulf oil spill continuing to dominate the talk of Americans, most of the blame has been put on BP. Public blame could easily be put on Transocean (RIG) as well since they owned the rig that exploded back in April and led to this catastrophe. The way these things usually work out it seems is to focus on one culprit and attempt to kill off such an enemy. This is definitely how this is playing out since we constantly hear about BP, the BP CEO, etc. rather than …
