		<description>So true.  Also, there is a definite salary cap on those jobs, in the $1XX,XXX range.  Not that having a 6-figure salary is bad at all, but if you ever wanted to make more than that, you are pretty much S-O-L.  I have a mechanical engineering degree from a good school, but unfortunately I realized too late into college that I didnt really want to do engineering.  Oops.  Another realization I came to is that engineering is becoming more and more computer-based, in terms of using computer programs to determine the best course of action for a project.  With the exponential growth-rate of capabilities for desktops, I think eventually engineering - at least, what we currently consider &quot;engineering&quot; - will do the way of the dodo as well.   
 
Bottom Line: Do what you love, and you will be successful.  Part of that is realizing what success means to you. </description>
