Out Of Touch? Completely

6 August 2010 5 Comments

Interesting reports coming through on the extravagant spending by government, specifically the first family.  Maybe even more interesting is that it seems more negative press is coming via the mainstream media?

Here’s a couple fun links:

Michelle Obama and 40 of her closest friends of course are vacationing in Spain.  60-70 rooms are needed at the five-star resort and they flew a government plane over there.  Yeah, that’s appropriate during the “worst economic crisis since the great depression” – words of her husband.

Obama flew six miles in Marine One the presidential helicopter to deliver some remarks on the economy.  Of course the justification is that driving six miles in the motorcade would be a mess in D.C.  Ok, fine.  Here’s an idea then, we saw the numbers this morning.  We know the economy sucks.  Either say nothing or deliver your message from the White House.

America is at risk of boiling over and out-of-touch leaders don’t see the need to cool things off.

Absolutely excellent interview by Steve Wynn that I watched today.  Be sure to check it out below.

My favorite comment I've seen re: the helicopter ride to the sign company was on the WSJ.com (paraphrased):

"Of course a sign company is hiring and doing well right now….they're working overtime to make signs that say, "Vote the bums out!""

Ever read Atlas Shrugged? I'm no Objectivist, but Ayn Rand apparently was right about a few things…
