How To Be a Rockstar In Your Office
You’re the new girl (or guy) in your office, and are eager to make friends. Having friends in the office is a sure fire way to enjoy your job, even on those days where you’re not enjoying your job. Having friends in the office also makes your job easier, people are more likely to help or suggest useful advice if you’re friendly with them. Here’s how to be a rockstar in your office
- Suggest activities for the group – this doesn’t even mean you have to plan it, necessarily. Most groups need an instigator, someone who wants everyone to come out and have a good time. Whether it’s bowling, a day at the spa, a round of golf, or just drinks after work, suggesting activities and being open to hanging out with fellow coworkers will make you quite popular in the office.
- Be the gym buddy – everybody needs a gym buddy! Be the one that anyone can go to to work at any of these gyms in San Jose. Be encouraging to others, and follow up on your goals and promises to yourself. Be the fitness inspiration in your office!
- Have chocolate at your desk – it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, or even anything that great. One of those giant Halloween candy type bags will do. This will ensure that people come to your desk area to hang out, and have a chat as well. It would be kind of a funny oxymoron as well, as you’re the fitness guru or the chocolate guru, depending on the time of day. However, who said you actually have to do all the things on this list? That would be a lot of work.
- Laugh – laughter is always the best medicine, whether you’re curing boredom, Monday blues, or a case of post work lunch itis. Be the laughter and ray of joy in the office, and you’re sure to be the one everybody comes to for the good things, like how their ex boyfriend’s aunt’s brother has extra Warriors tickets, and their boyfriend is sick so they need you to go with them.
Office life can be quite entertaining, but it’s even more entertaining if you’re in the middle of it…looking fit, laughing, and eating some chocolate.
