Are The Days Of U.S. Stock Market Gains Over?
Today, I had an interesting conversation with one of my friends. He proposed several ideas to me that have me thinking. First, we discussed how if you would have invested in a well diversified portfolio of S&P 500 stocks a decade ago, you would be about even. Actually, down since inflation would be eating away your purchasing power. Sad? Well, my friend continued to say that this trend would continue for some time, and unless serious action taken to redirect our economy, the days of consistent gains in the U.S. market are over.

If Guns Kill People, Then Do Pens Misspell Words?
Here in America, we have a widespread attitude of blaming everyone else for our problems. Personal responsibility is not a popular concept to embrace. We look to the government for our general welfare. We look to government and companies for our retirement. We blame cigarette companies for cancer, gun companies for murder, and banks for subprime mortgages. When do we decide to take responsibility for ourselves and for our own future?
This blog is about taking a hold of our financial future and not relying on anyone to provide for us now or down the road.
